The AI Video That Shook Entertainment

On February 11, 2026, ByteDance released Seedance 2.0, an AI video generator so realistic that Deadpool screenwriter Rhett Reese said "it's likely over for us."

What Made It Go Viral

Tom Cruise vs Brad Pitt: A viral video showed the actors fighting on a rooftop, created with just a "2 line prompt."

Zero watermarks: Unlike other AI tools, Seedance generates videos with no watermark, making them indistinguishable from real footage.

15-second clips: Currently limited to 15 seconds but launching globally on CapCut soon.

Hollywood's Legal Response

Disney, Paramount, and Netflix all sent cease-and-desist letters alleging "blatant infringement." Netflix called it a "high-speed piracy engine." The Motion Picture Association accused ByteDance of "unauthorized use of U.S. copyrighted works on a massive scale." ByteDance responded that it "respects intellectual property rights" and will "strengthen current safeguards."
