Google officially expanded AirDrop support to Pixel 9 series phones on February 17-18, 2026, allowing seamless file sharing with iPhones, iPads, and Macs.

Which Devices Work

Pixel 9 series: Pixel 9, 9 Pro, 9 Pro XL, and 9 Pro Fold now support AirDrop interoperability via Quick Share.

Pixel 10 series: Already supported since November 2025.

Pixel 10a: First A-series phone to launch with AirDrop support out of the box.

The Catch

Pixel 9a is not supported despite being newer than some Pixel 9 variants—a strategic omission that seems deliberate. Google says more Android phones will gain compatibility later in 2026, with partners like Nothing and Qualcomm already working on implementation.
