The Cross-Platform Breakthrough

Google officially expanded AirDrop support to Pixel 9 series phones on February 17-18, 2026, allowing seamless file sharing with iPhones, iPads, and Macs.

Which Devices Work

Pixel 9 series: Pixel 9, 9 Pro, 9 Pro XL, and 9 Pro Fold now support AirDrop via Quick Share.

Pixel 10 series: Already supported since November 2025.

Pixel 10a: First A-series phone to launch with AirDrop support out of the box.

The Catch

Pixel 9a is not supported despite being newer—a strategic omission. Google says more Android phones will gain compatibility later in 2026, with Nothing and Qualcomm already working on implementation.
